Recent progress of backplane technologies for AMOLED
We review backplane technologies for active matrix organic light emitting display (AMOLED) displays. Various TFTs, such as amorphous silicon (a-Si) thin film transistor (TFT), low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) TFT, nanocrystalline silicon (ne-Si) TFT and oxide-based TFT are considered for the backplane of AMOLED display. The technical issues, such as device characteristics and reliability under bias stress and illumination, of various TFTs will be discussed.
