Low-Flicker and High-Transmission MVA LCDs with Improved Row-Inversion IC for Low-Power High-Performance Applications
We have successfully fabricated low-flicker and high-transmission amplified intrinsic fringe field (AIFF) MVA LCDs for low-power high-performance applications. We invented an improved up-down rowinversion driving scheme to achieve dot-inversion performance with reduction of display flicker and cross-talk. AIFF MVA LCDs were successfully fabricated using the improved up-down row-inversion IC and achieved high image quality. We also further improved our high-resolution AIFF MVA designs with dot-inversion IC to achieve the highest transmission of all LCDs using amorphous silicon TFT/LCDs. The improved up-down row-inversion IC can be combined with our new AIFF MVA designs to further fabricate high-performance AIFF MVA for portable applications needing low-power consumption.
