Performance Study of Field Emission Backlight Unit and Display
This paper presented the performance results of a planar field emission backlight unit (FE-BLU) based on carbon nanotubes (CNT) and field emission display (FED) on low work function (LWF) cathode. The morphology and field emission property of CNT were investigated. The FE-BLU and FED were fabricated by screen-printing CNT or LWF cathode and phosphor anode on glass substrate and then sintering and sealing. The good emission uniformity and stability of fabricated FE-BLU and FED was obtained, and They showed high brightness of 3200 cd/m2 and 400 cd/m2, respectively.
