Legibility comparison between reflective and illuminant displays
In this paper we compared visual comfort of two electronic books with different display technologies: E-paper and LCD. Legibility test experiments were conducted to find out the reading performance of each display. Printer paper is used as reference for comparison and digital flicker fusion apparatus was used to confirm visual condition of subjects. Also, Subjective response was determined by a questionnaire. The Experimental results revealed a trend that, reflective displays provide better visual comfort when reading.
