Effects of Electric Field Polar on the Disclination Lines of Liquid Crystal in the Fringe Field
This work investigated the dynamic stability of liquid crystal disclination lines (DLs)are generated near pixel edges for fringe-field switching (FFS) mode. The DLs near the pixel two edges for FFS mode are generated from different electric field polar between pixel electrode and common electrode were observed. Switching the polar states of pixel electrode can be observed the DLs permeate into the main active area from the different edges of the pixel. This effects indicate that the liquid crystal DLs depend on the electric field polar. The pixel electrode when be applied AC voltage, the DLs is a competition result by positive and negative polar. The analytical results show that electric field polar is a significant factor on mechanisms of liquid crystal DLs in this FFS mode.
