Highly Efficient Blue Organic Light-Emitting Diodes based on a Sublimable Cationic Iridium Complex with Diphenylphosphino-Functoinal N-Heterocyclic Carbene as the Ancillary Ligand
Cationic iridium complexes have attracted much attention for their applications in solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and solid-state light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs).1, 2 hi our work, a new blue-emitting cationic iridium complex Ir(dfppy)2(DPPMMIM)PF6 which emits blue light (444 and 473nm) with high photoluminescent quantum yield (0.46) has been prepared. This complex can be thermally evaporated under vacuum without significant decomposition (Td. = 395°C). OLEDs based on this cationic iridium complex also show promising results.
