A Novel Stereoscopic 3D Display Using Proper Pixel Structures
A novel stereoscopic display was proposed by coating in-cell photo-induced patterned polarizer instead of normal polarizer which attached on the outside of the liquid crystal cell. The patterned retarder widely used in 3D display is removed in order to reduce the crosstalk caused by misalignment between LCD pixels and patterned retarder stripes for off-axis illumination, Proper pixel structures are also well designed to show left and right images, respectively. Simulation results show that the pixels are capable of providing good optical characterization of 3D display.
