A Wide-View Novel Design for Stereoscopic 3D LCD
In this paper we success to develop a new type of patterned retarder polarizer to achieve excellent viewing angle of stereoscopic 3D liquid crystal display (LCD). Compared to conventional structure and several new structures made by positive C or two biaxial filml2, new design has several advanced features, such as simple structure `low cost ` easy to realize and of course wide-viewing angle. The crosstalk of the new design I and II is 7.8% and 4.2% at φ = 45°, 0 = 60°,individually, by simulation, which is much lower than conventional structure (10.5%). Finally, experiment result shows the same trend as we expected.
