Class-AB CMOS buffer with floating class-AB control

A novel high performance class-AB voltage buffer is presented. The proposed approach introduces floating class-AB control technique on the basis of a class-A super follower topology to realize class-AB operation. The circuit is biased by two translinear loops which provide power-supply-independent quiescent currents. Simulation results show that the circuit achieves higher slew-rate (SR) and lower distortion against the conventional class-A super follower with the same power dissipation.
