STUDY ON GRAIN GROWTH RATE WITH 3D MONTE CARLO SIMULATION
Monte Carlo simulation of the normal grain growth process in 2D and 3D have been carried out to validate the averaged growth law in 2D,and a new averaged growth law in 3D,i.e.,the average grain growth rate of a given topological class depends on the difference between the number of grain faces and the average number of faces of grains nearest neighbors. The results indicate that both the topology and geometry must be considered for averaged growth law in 3D,which is consistent with the three-dimensional von Neumann relation.
