NOTION OF ADDITIVE CONTRAST AND ASSOCIATED METRICS IN THE LIP (LOGARITHMIC IMAGE PROCESSING) FRAMEWORK
Introduced by Jourlin et al ([1],[2],[3]),the LIP (Logarithmic Image Processing) Model is now recognized as an efficient framework to process images acquired in transmitted light and to take into account the human visual system ([4]).This last point considerably enlarges the Model application field. In this paper,we propose various metrics adapted to the LIP context and establish their link with the additive contrast defined in [5] and based on the transmittance notion. The efficiency of this additive contrast for contour detection is shown for grey level images as well as for color ones and associated metrics are used to solve a problem of target detection.
