A Survey and Analysis of Low-Carbon Awareness & Capability of Low-Carbon Living in China
The significance of low-carbon living has been much discussed in various media. In essence, low-carbon living is an attitude. To ordinary people, whether this would be a sustainable way of living depends if their quality of life is compromised and to what degree. This paper used Online surveys and descriptive statistical methods to study the public awareness of low-carbon living and the capability thereof in China. The study examined the factors such as gender, age, living environment, occupation, etc in relation with the awareness and practice. The findings of this paper hold referential significance for promoting low-carbon awareness and practice in China. Through this it is found that the general public lacks the knowledge and basic skills in low-carbon living. This leads to the misperception that low-carbon living necessarily mean a compromised quality of life, thus hampering the popularization of low-carbon living and developing a sustainable low-carbon economy..
