Rat Olfactory Potential Detection and Processing Technology

The paper designed a signal sampling and processing system of rat Olfactory Evoked Potential (OEP) Electroencephalogram (EEG), which can process and analysis the Electroencephalogram (EEG) direct at the different olfactory source stimulus. The detection electrodes of the system are placed in the Anterior Olfactory Nucleus (AON) and Hippocampus of rat brain. The signal pre-processing circuit including preamplifier circuit, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, variable gain circuit and SO Hz-trap filter etc. Control Module of System with MSP430 low-power chips, wireless communication module using nRF24L01 signals to the host computer, Then the host computer processing, analysis, display the OEP of rat. Experiments show that the system can obtain a kind of better signal of OEP, and direct at the different olfactory source stimulus, the brain signals collected in the amplitude and frequency changes significantly, the system can be used for the detection of explosives.
