The effect of substrate and electro deposition parameters on microstructure of hydroxyapatite coating
Hydroxyapatite has been widely used as a biocompatible ceramic in many areas of medicine, but mainly for contact with bone tissue for its resemblance to mineral bone. Therefore applying it on the surface of metallic implants can improve the biocompatibility of orthopedic implants. In this study hydroxyapatite coating is applied on two different metallic materials which can be used as implants and the effect of substrate and electrochemical parameters on their microstructure were investigated.
