Kinematics analysis of handspring forward on- stretched salto forward with 11/2turn 540°

Objective: Kinematical characteristics and movement features of handspring forward on-stretched salto forward with 11/2turn 540° were studied to provide theoretical gist and technique parameter for this action. Methods: Handspring forward on-stretched salto forward with 11/2turn 540° of Li Yiting and Yang Pei in womens Vaulting Horse in 2011 National Gymnastics Championships was analyzed to get relevant kinematic data. Results: The time touching the board of Li Yiting and Yang Pei were not significant, but Li Yiting gets higher vertical velocity by reducing horizontal velocity. In the first jump phase, leg swing was quickly, but Yang Pei placed leg to a larger extent. Li Yiting pushed the horse fast and powerfully, lasting time was shorter. Besides, she touched horse actively and the position she touched the horse was closer to his body. The rotation velocity of Li Yiting was faster than Yang Pei. During the second flight phase, Li Yiting achieved a larger gravity center lifting height and had completed the swivel action before landing, indicating a better landing and body posture controlling skills. Conclusion: Slowly rotation velocity, significant leg division and landing instability in the second jumping phase of Yang Pei may be the primary reasons for the falling behind to Li Yi Ting.
