Study on a Glue-robots Vision Software System

A glue-robots vision software system is presented, which is composed of three modules: automatic part identification, air spout trace NC code generation and glue-lines quality detection. Keytechniques for the software system have been developed.In the automatic part identification module, judgement rules for an existing part and comparability between twoparts are given. In the air spout trace NC code generation module, a profile curve tracking, thinning andvectorisation arithmetic are given and the thinned andvectorised curve can be utilised to generate the air spout trace NC code. In the glue-lines quality detection module, the procedures to detect broken glue-line are described in details. Evaluation on the developedsoftware system has been done to verify the reliability of the software. The results show that the software can be used to correctly identify a part, generate NC code anddetect disfigurements of a glue-line.
