Fire and Explosion Hazards of Coal Mining and Prevention Measures
Before human beings could discover any other new energy sources, coal remains the primary source of energy in the development of modern society. The coal mining industry plays a key strategic role in the national economy. In recent years, the smallsized coal mines have been closed and rectified by the government. Thus, the order of coal production has been somewhat improved and the equipment standard has been promoted as well as the number of deaths during coal accidents has been lowered. However, the fact is that there still exist many hidden dangers in the process of coal mining. The exploitation process of coal mine may bring about fire and explosions in particular, which would easily cause a severe miningrelated disaster of casualties. Under this situation, this paper briefly introduces the danger of fire and explosions in the process of coal mining, analyses the causes of fire and explosions, and elaborates the precautionary measures and solutions.
