The Use of 3D Mine Ventilation Simulation Software in Mine Thermal Damage Control

The Donghai mine of Jixi Mining Bureau has severely thermal damage. High temperature not only affects the mechanical properties of the rock, but also seriously affects the safety of mine, which has become one of the main obstacles in limiting deep mining. The main advantage of the 3D simulation software Ventsim is utilized to build 3D model of underground mine. Based on the ventilation resistance determined, the actual temperature underground is firstly obtained by thermal simulation. Then, the Ventsim simulate the temperature change after cooling measures were taken. Comparing the cooling effects of different measures, a relatively reasonable cooling measure is chosen. Using 3D simulation software Ventsim in Donghai mines No. 5 workface, increasing the different amount of airflow, reducing air leakage and mechanical refrigeration are presented to cool down in the simulation. The successful use of Ventsim in the Donghai mines No. 5 workface demonstrates its accuracy and reliability in simulating mines thermal temperature, which gives an excellent guide to choose a reasonable cooling measure.
