Numerical Simulation of Faults Influence on Ground Stress Distribution in a Metal Mine

As the hot topic of rock engineering research, deep mining engineering has a lot of problems to be solved, especially in the fields of energy industry and national defense. The law of ground pressure distribution is one of the most significant and urgent problems. It is known that the rock mass in shallow fault zone is weak and breaking, so it becomes stress decreasing zone. However, the effect of deep fault zone on ground stress distribution is still not clear. Based on field research and rock mechanics test, this research builds mechanics numerical simulation model and analyzes the influence of deep faults on ground stress distribution in deep metal mine. The result demonstrates that deep faults break continuity of ground stress distribution compared with water pressure theory.
