Development of Oral Disintegrant Tablets Using Fine Particles Coating Processors and High Pressure Homogenizer

The need for fine particles coating technology is growing in the recent years, which has already been one of processes to make oral disintegarnt tablets, or OD tablets. In this presentation, two types of fluidized bed fine particles coating processors will be introduced at first, which are newly developed because development of processors, with productivity better than conventional fluidized bed coating processors and a function coating over fine particles, is deemed to be the industrial need. Meanwhile, demand for drugs particle size reduction is also rising dramatically, aiming at solubility improvement of poorly soluble drug. This paper will also mention a high pressure Homogenizer. This processor can reduce particle size under submicron size, which is very difficult with dry grinding processor. Last of all, as for layering operation, the surface of layered particles can be smoothed out by using layering liquid processed by this wet mill. Besides, you can expect to make drug sizes smaller, to improve solubility of drug and to enhance the properties of coated layer by using this grinder, combined with one of fluidized bed fine particle coating processors.
