Effect of Fe3+ / Fe2+ ratio on sulfides dissolution

The investigation described shows that metals sulfides dissolution can be optimized by controlling redox potential, which is mainly determined by Fe3+ /Fe2+ ratio of the solution. There is linear correspondence between the redox potential and Fe3+/ Fe2+ ratio. The effect of Fe3+ / Fe2+ ratio on the pyrite and chalcocite dissolution were investigated. Chalcocite dissolution speeded up as redox potential was higher than 650 mV, but pyrite dissolved slowly as redox potential was lower than 750 mV(SCE).
