Bioleaching behavior of chalcopyrite with carrolite by mesophile and moderate thermophile
As an important cobalt sulphide, carrolite usually appears in primary copper sulphide belt and its dissolution in bioleaching has been seldom described. After batch testing, it shows that extraction of cobalt depends on chalcopyrite dissolved. Moreover, dissolution rate of chalcopyrite by moderate thermophile leaching is much better than by mesophile. In column test, carrolite bioleaching mostly relates to particle size and extraction of copper from chalcopyrite. Recovery of cobalt by column bioleaching reaches 75% in 180 days when recovery of copper is 70%.
