Synergic action of Fe and bacteria in gold bearing chalcopyrite bioleaching
In this paper, gold bearing chalcopyrite bioleaching is studied in flasks with different initial Fe + , Fe and bacterial concentration. The results show that chalcopyrite consumes acid in the bioleaching process. The induced reaction is happened to Fe + in high concentration. Jarosite and H+ are produced to main acidity for bacterial survival on the surface of chalcopyrite. The bacteria are inhibited by Fe + and their oxidization is weakened. The bacterial activity decreases. Fe2+ in high concentration is to provide a favor to recovery of coenzyme in vivo of bacteria and to chalcopyrite leaching.
