Research on the bioremediation technology of heavy metal contamination in metallic mines soils
The heavy metal pollution in the surrounding areas of metallic mines has become a serious environmental problem. Heavy metal pollution has caused the decrease of the soil quality, the degradation of ecosystem, and the pollution of crops, threatening human health. At present, the methods of soil heavy metal pollution restoration are various, including physical methods, chemical methods, and biological methods etc. Recently great importance is attached to the bioremediation technology which has achieved remarkable progress. This paper detailedly introduced the current different bioremediation technologies, which include phytoremediation, microbial remediation and animal remediation methods, along with the remediation theory, development and the advantages and disadvantages. Solid wastes and acid water caused the enrichment of heavy metal in soil surrounding the mine. According to bioremediation and its application, an assumption was made to remedy heavy metal contaminated soils in metallic mines and the development trend was predicted.
