Bacterial leaching research of Cu-IMi flotation tailing
At present, about 14 billion tons tails are released by nonferrous metal mining in China every year. 400 tons rocks and tails are accompanied with 1 ton copper produced in copper ore. Most of the tails are shipped out without management. In this paper, the bioleaching of Xinjiang Cu-Ni flotation tailing was stuided. The process mineralogy research shows that the main metallic minerals are is chalcopyrite, pentlandite and pyrrhotite in the Xinjiang Cu-Ni flotation tailings. The results show that bioleaching is an available approach to recover Cu and Ni in the tailings with low cost and clean environment. The leaching efficiency is 42. 89% for Cu and 92. 57% for Ni after 390 davs bioleaching.
