Bacterial adsorption research on the surface of chalcopyrite
The bacterial adsorption and bioleaching on the surface of chalcopyrite were studied. The ninhydrin colorimetry is used to measure the total count on the surface of chalcopyrite under different grain sizes of ore, pulp concentration and initial pH. The results show that bacterial adsorption declines after an increase on the surface of chalcopyrite. The smaller the grain size and the higher the bacterial adsorption rate, the higher the copper leaching rate; the less the pulp concentration, and the higher the bacterial adsorption rate of unit pulp concentration, the higher the copper leaching rate. The bacteria have preferable adsorption when initial pH is 1.22.0, and the maximal leaching efficiency reaches when initial pH is 1. 2. The bacterial leaching is governed by direct and indirect action.
