An environment-friendly leaching process of converter vanadium-bearing slag
The extraction of vanadium from converter slag (Panzhihua Steel Making Plant of China) was attempted to use an environment-friendly leaching process without roasting. The orthogonal experiment was finished and the effects of initial concentration of sulfuric acid, temperature, stirring speed, liquid to solid ratio, and leaching time were investigated by range analysis and variance analysis. The leachate and residue were characterized by ICP, XRF, and XRD. The experiment results indicate that when temperature is 140t , initial concentration of sulfuric acid is 200 g/L, liquid to solid ratio is 20: 1, leaching time is 120 min, stirring speed is 500 rpm, oxygen partial pressure is 0. 5 MPa, and particle size is - 0. 075 - + 0. 055 mm ( A3 B3 C3 D3 E3 ) , leaching rate of vanadium is 97. 74% and that of titanium is 13. 0% , the contents of vanadium and titanium oxide are 0. 573% and 26. 38% respectively in residue. Vanadium and titanium have a well separation through the environment-friendly leaching process.
