Effect and Mitigation of Arsenide and Chloride on the Alkaline Zinc-Electrowinning Process
In this work, the influences of arsenide and chloride on electrowinning of zinc from alkaline solution were observed. The CV and-SPC increase with arsenide and chloride concentrations increasing in the electrolyte. The zinc depositing will be seriously restrained when the concentration of arsenide is over 500 mg/L. Experiments for As and Cl removals from alkaline zinc solution were tested, and found that the As in electrolyte can be removed by Fe2(SO4)3 at low NaOH concentration, and the Cl in electrolyte removed by increasing NaOH content.
