A Static Model to Predict Reclaimed WEEE Magnitude Based on Chinese RHEA Program
With the published statistics data of arisings in Chinese replacement of household electrical appliance pilot program (RHEA program), three static models are built to predict the magnitude of reclaimed waste electrical and electronic equipments (WEEE).In these models, demographics of resident population, inventory of household electrical appliance and product of inventory and GDP per capita are used to fit with one-variable linear regression. Its relatively easy to get demographics data, however, the model based on demographics of resident population is only suitable for a rough estimate due to its rather lower multiple correlation coefficient of linear fitting. The other two models have greater multiple correlation coefficients and the greatest one 0.82, although not perfect enough, lies in the model using product of inventory and GDP per capita as variable. As for the differences of economy, policy enforcement efficiency and other factors among those involved regions in the RHEA program, appeared policy stimulating effects which are not the same, resulting in relatively higher or lower reclaimed WEEE compared with inventory. The multiple correlation co-efficient increased to 0.98 by introducing correction factors to those special regions.
