Leaching Characteristics of Lead from Waste Printed Circuit Boards

The leaching environment was simulated to explore, the release rule of Pb in PCBs under conditions with different pH value, liquid/solid ratio and saturated degree. The results of leaching tests showed that the concentration of Pb in leachate increased as the pH of extraction fluid reduced, and it had a significant increase at the pH value of 3.20 and 4.57. The influence of the liquid/solid ratio on Pb leaching behavior was insignificant. In the dynamic leaching experiments, the cumulative leaching amount of Pb increased when the pH reduced, and saturated degree had no significant effect on it. It could be concluded that, by the action of rain, the leaching concentration and cumulative leaching amount of Pb would exceed the limitation of surface water V, and pollute surface water in the long-term run.
