Study on the Resource Utilization and Pollution Control of Waste Fluorescent Lamps
Since waste fluorescent lamps have characteristics of energy-efficient, government came to encouraging the use of fluorescent lamps from the year of 2004. The annual output production has increased steadily and reached about 6 billion in 2010. Waste fluorescent lamps contain some heavy metals, such as mercury and lead, and other environmental pollution substances. Once disposed improperly, it will cause a series of serious environmental problems, including impact on ecological balance and human health, and it also leads to a waste of resource. Combined with current conditions of other countries, regulating the wasted fluorescent lamps, including recycling and disposal, both are beneficial for the reuse of resources and the prevention of contamination.
