The Enrichment and Recovery of Metals from Electronic Waste

Electronic wastes serious harm has attracted widespread attention. Starting from the characteristics of electronic wastes, the serious situation and significance of electronic waste treatment are deeply discussed, meanwhile the domestic and foreign research status of electronic waste treatment are discussed in many aspects. China University of Mining and Technology has made great research progress in physical sorting of printed circuit boards (PCBs). In pulsing airflow separation, the basic dynamics equations of particles movement in active pulsing airflow field were established, and the model parameters of the basic dynamics equations were optimized, the studies realized efficient enrichment of metals from 5 ~ 0.5 mm PCBs; in separation by water medium-varied diameter fluidized bed, the studies realized efficient enrichment of metals from -0.5 mm PCBs, after separation of 0.5 ~ 0.074 mm PCBs, the metal grade of metal concentrate and the metal recovery both reached more than 90%; in separation of Falcon, the studies realized efficient recovery of metals from -0.5 mm PCBs, and its performance index of separation was evaluated. Based on the thorough analysis of related policy and research progress, hot and difficult problems of electronic waste treatment recently are summarized, some suggestions are given for the development of metal concentrate and recovery technology from electronic waste in the future.
