Waste Mobile Phone Recycling in China-Based on Questionnaires Analysis
With the rapid development, of economy and substantial increase in peoples living standard, electronic communication industry shows a trend of rapid development in China. As an important communication product, mobile phones become the necessary product of our life. At the same time, the generation of waste mobile phone is raising. The waste mobile phone which contains kinds of toxic metals and precious metals can bring environment pollution as well as resources waste if they cannot be recycled and disposed reasonable. But at the present time, there is no reasonable recycle system build for mobile phone in China. The aim of this paper is to explore the waste mobile phone recycling in China recently, including waste mobile phone flow, consumers preference of waste mobile phone recycling and consumers willingness to pay (WTP). For this purpose a questionnaire was used to collect data, and 1100 questionnaires were distributed to consumers nationwide and 1035 questionnaires were available. Then based on the survey, suggestions and comments for waste mobile phone management and recycling were proposed at the end of this paper.
