Investigation of Indoor Air Quality in Children’s Day Care Centers in Korea
Indoor Air Quality is one of dangerous threats to occupants in built environment due to harmful health effects. Particularly, indoor environment where children stay most of time should be carefully monitored and maintained since children is more susceptible to indoor contaminants, such as particulate matters, VOCs, microbial contaminants and so on. In this study we investigated the level of indoor pollutants in children’s day care centers in Korea. Measurements were performed for volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, PM10, CO2, CO, airborne mold spores and bacteria. Based on this, we analyzed current status of main contaminants and seasonal differences in the concentrations of indoor air pollutants in children’s day care centers.
