Flow Physics of Transitional and Turbulent Separation Bubbles

Transitional and turbulent separation bubbles are important in many technological areas and our understanding of the physical mechanisms is being rapidly advanced by the application of direct and large eddy simulation techniques. In this contribution, we review recent developments and discuss some of the fundamental questions that remain.
