Substance of green waste compost adding bamboo vinegar as growth stimulator for Calathca rotundifola cv. Fasciata
The composting process allows the conversion of green waste into plant substance that can be used in replacing Pindstrup Sphagnum (PS) for Calathca rotundifola cv. Fasciata cultivation. To help address this need, this study used bacterial reagent and bamboo vinegar as additives in composting process, and chosen the best green waste compost (BGWC) with the best Physico-chemical properties for partly or totally replacing PS in cultivating plant. In the green waste compost experiment, the pH, EC, and total N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn concentrations of compost products were analyzed. The addition of a certain concentration of bamboo vinegar can keep more N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn concentrations than only the addition of bacterial reagent, and these trace elements within the normal range. Moreover, the 50: 50 (v: v) PS + BGWC substance had very significant effects on leaves weight, over two times as large as the PS or BGWC substance. And the whole plant weight in PS substance was nearly 1.18 times as large as in BGWC, but only 0.72 in PS + BGWC. The nearly 90% root length was mainly distributed within 0-5.0 mm diameter level by Bohm classification method. Results obtained indicate that the combination of 1: 1 000 (v: v) bamboo vinegar of 2 L and bacteria reagent of 0.5% (m) has the best effect on BGWC, which can replaced 50% (v) PS as the optimal effective influence on Calathca rotundifola cv. Fasciata growth.
