Research on Co-Cu-Al alloy inert anode for aluminum electrolysis in potassium cryolite low temperature electrolyte system
The ternary Co-Cu-Al alloy was employed as inert anode for aluminum electrolysis in potassium cryolite system. The aluminum product purity was 99.4 wt.%. Co existed in the Co-Cu-Al matrix in the form of metal compound CoAl, thus restraining the diffusion of molten salt. The corrosion rate for the Co-Cu-Al anode was 14.38 mm/a, only 67.8% of that for the CuAl anode.
