Effect of Cucumber - Straw Mushroom Rotation and Alcohol Treatment on Control of RKN
The harm of root-knot nematodes (RKN) to cucumber cropping in greenhouse is very serious. It s found that cucumber-straw mushroom rotation can effectively control the rapid rise of the number of RKN and decrease the content of soil microbial biomass carbon (MBC). Soil treatment with alcohol solution has the same effect for the control of nematodes, with 2% alcohol solution being the optimal. After the rotation and the soil being treated with alcohol solution for 5 days, MBC of the treated soil were higher than that of the untreated ones. MBC content at 2% alcohol treatment reached the highest value and then declines as time goes on. After the soil being treated with 2% alcohol solution for six months. MBC gets almost the same value as that of the untreated ones.
