Comparative Assessment of Fruit Growth and Development Behaviors of Two Blackberry (Rubus spp.) Cultivars
Fruit growth and development behaviors of two cultivated blackberry cultivars Boysen and Kiowa were investigated in this study. For two cultivars the relationship between growth indexes (Y) and time (X) of fruit development were both suitable for the ridge regression model. During the fruit developmental stages, growth of fruit weight and diameter all uniformly showed as the dynamic trend of a single S curve fast-slow-fast. The growth rates of fruit weight and diameter were corresponding to a different pattern with the other two and showed as a double S curve increase-decrease-stagnation increase-decrease.. These results were helpful to understand the growth patterns of blackberry varieties.
