Study on Cultivation Characteristics of Syrah in Changli Hebei
To improve the quality of wine grape and wine in Changli, the botanical and economic characteristics of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon were studied. The results shows that phenophase of Syrah is earlier than that of Cabernet Sauvignon: germination rate of Syrah is higher than that of Cabernet Sauvignon, and fruiting branches rate of Syrah is less than that of Cabernet Sauvignon, but it still belongs to higher level. The bunch size of Syrah is significantly less than that of Cabernet Sauvignon: sugar content of Syrah is less than that of Cabernet Sauvignon, but sugar-acid ratio is higher than Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine brewed from Syrah has the characteristics of fuller fruity, smooth and mellow taste, sense of structure is slightly smaller than Cabernet Sauvignon; the overall quality of the wine is higher, it can be totally suitable for planting in Changli.
