ISSR Analysis of the Genetic Diversity among 17 Local Cultivars of Allium cepa var. aggregatum in Heilongjiang Province

The potato onion (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) is an important crop cultivated in northern China. However, little is known about the classification and germplasm identification of many cultivars of this plant. In the present study, the 17 local cultivars in Heilongjiang province were analyzed by ISSR markers. The selected 6 primers, that have better polymorphism in 35 primers, will be amplified into total 37 bands; the 27 of them would be polymorphism locus. The genetic similarity coefficient between the 17 local cultivars should be 0.3571-0.9524 and the materials could be divided into 5 groups at 0.73. The clustering results and the morphological characteristics have something in corresponding. Our results provide a scientific basis for the identification of various cultivars of potato onion.
