Cloning and Expression Analysis of WRKY Gene in Eggplant

The WRKY transcription factor protein is famous for its highly conserved amino acid sequence WRKYGQK as well as the novel zinc-finger-like motifs Cys2His2 or Cys2HisCys. The WRKY transcription factor is considered to be widely involved in biotic and abiotic stress responses in plant. In this study, a 702 bp WRKY segment and a 558 bp fi-actin segment were acquired, including WRKY gene expression in eggplant seedlings under the following treatment conditions: salinity (200 mM NaCI), cold(4°C), and abscisic acid (ABA) (100 ftM), and then different expressions of WRKY gene were detected by using RT-qPCR (real-time relative quantification PCR). The results of RT-qPCR analysis revealed that the relative expression of WRKY gene improved 617.47%. 185.83%, 205.30% after cold, salinity, and ABA treatment respectively, which demonstrated that WRKY gene played a positive regulatory role under different conditions.
