Decomposing the Growth of China Total Expenditure on Health
This paper decomposes China Total Expenditure on Health (CTEH) to analyze the main factors that determined its growth. It is organized into four sections. Following the introduction, , section 2 analyzes the development trends and structure of China total expenditure on health. Section 3 focuses on the main factors that determined the growth of China Total Expenditure on Health (CTEH), such as population, GDP per capita, health care price, and so on. We also develop a regression model to estimate the income elasticity and the price elasticity of health care spending. Section 4 summarizes the main findings in the paper and their policy implications for further reform.
