Personality Difference between Civil Servants and Enterprise Administrators: An Empirical Study
This paper employs Personality Adjective Scale to examine personality traits of civil servants and enterprise administrators. Results of the study results show that the personality traits of civil servants bear some resemblance to enterprise administrators. But there still exist some personality differences, which mainly consist in market consciousness, competitive consciousness and obedience consciousness; the obedience consciousness of male civil servants is significantly higher than that of male enterprise administrators. The market consciousness and competitive consciousness of female civil servants are remarkably lower than that of female enterprise administrators. The market consciousness and competitive consciousness of young civil servants are significantly lower than that of young enterprise administrators. And there is no significant difference between middle-aged civil servants and middle-aged enterprise administrators. Based on these results, the paper puts forward that it is greatly necessary to implement Development Plan Outline for Medium and Long Term Talents Development and to promote the exchange of administration talents from governments and enterprises, by which can facilitate the improvement and perfection of both civil servants and enterprise administrators personality.
