Issues and Reflections of Research on the Chinese Government Performance Management
The government performance management has become an important component of Chinas service-oriented government. More and more research institutions and scholars interest in the government performance management and expand discussion and research in China. This article analyzes and summarises the Chinese government performance management literature that data from the CNKI social science databases between 1993 and 2010, in order to evaluate the Chinese government performance management research. The result shows that, the research on Chinese government performance panagement presents five characteristics: the research lack of institutional support; research course is short, research pace is slow; empirical research and statistical techniques using less; research presents structural iunbalance; the academic standardization needs to be improved; the overall is at the initial stage. Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward some proposals aims at improving Chinese government performance management research.
