Preferable Leadership: Case Study in Central Thailand

This study would like to present how local leaders, especially in central region of Thailand, can sustain their positions for long time even there are so many other potential competitors challenging. The study found that after decades of democracy development of Thailand, attitudes of people about local leader have been changed. Namely, they have changed from autocratic leadership to be more democratic style. However, the differentiation between people in rural and urban areas, the leadership of Thailand now is hybridization between those which this study name Auto-democratic leadership which the major characteristic is synchronized by paternalism and decentralization.
