Discussion on Citizen Participation in Public Decision-making of China
The citizen participation in the public decisionmaking is essential for democracy construction of China. It is the most important and direct path for the government gaining credit and establishing the confidence of the masses. Since the reform and opening up, especially in the background that central authorities are determined to build a serviceoriented government, citizen participation in our government public decision-making in both depth and breadth or ways has ameliorated greatly than ever before. However, due to the factors such as political and cultural environment, the government and the citizen participation mechanism, the degree of our citizen participation in public decision-making is quite low, Such present condition of the public participating creates a severe challenge for the establishment of a service-oriented government and construction of democratic politics. We are urged for emphasizing a in-depth analysis of any factors which may affect the citizen participation in public decision-making, exploring and seeking a suitable path for citizen participation in China. Thus accomplishment a further improvement for the socialist political civilization construction and create an advanced way for the government serves the nation.
