The Equalization of Basic Public Services of Radio and Television in Rural Areas: Challenges, Opportunities and Countermeasures
The equalization of basic public services of radio and television in Chinas rural areas is an important part of the reform of rural radio and television development. It plays a significant role in the balancing urban and rural economic and social development, building new socialist countryside and enriching the spiritual and cultural life of peasants. This paper analyzes the challenges of the equalization of basic public services of radio and television in Chinas rural areas based on the present situation, and analyzes the favorable conditions and excellent opportunities of national policy support, fast changes in technology, content production boom and high market growth. Then, this paper proposes series of policy recommendations from the perspectives of channel construction, content development, resource protection and institutional innovation.
