The Research on Countermeasure of Management in the Mental Health of the Civil Servants in Tax System in Sichuan Province

Aim: to understand the overall mental health status of civil servants in tax system, and to describe the unique performance of civil servants in tax system and to discuss the possible causes of psychological problems by the analysis between different genders and ages. And on this basis, give some advices for the work of mental health services. Method: 371 civil servants from 4 local tax departments in Sichuan Province were tested with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). Conclusions: (1) The overall mental health of civil servants is not optimistic. The scores are high than normal especially in scales of hypochondria (HS), depression (D), hysteria (HY), mental disease (PD), paranoid (PA) and schizophrenia (SC). (2) Male civil servants has stronger social tensions and self-control, meanwhile female civil servants get more active in interpersonal and less self-control. (3) The scores of male civil servants of Depression (D), Mental Disease (PD), Paranoia (PA), Neurasthenia (PT) and Schizophrenia (SC) were decreased with increasing age, but score of Male and Female tendency (MF) was increased. (4) The score of female civil servants of Depression (D) was significantly increased in higher age, and scores of Psychopathy (PD) and Male and Female tendency (MF) were decreased. (5) Male civil servants has a higher working pressure than females and get much more depression. Meanwhile, the female civil servants have much more self-confidence than males.
