Heaven Cant Wait: Establishing Integrated Coastal Zone Management System Based on Ecosystem Theory Over Shandong Peninsula
Since 1990s,world economy has been becoming more higher dependence on marine outcomings, in particular, from the ecosystem on coastal zone, China either is not an exception. However, various pressures (e.g., land-overuse, tremendous demographic growth, lack of effective management, and so on.) have deteriorated the functions of coastal zone. The objective of this paper is aiming to establish an integrated management system based on ecosystem theory for conducting comprehensive management towards Shandong peninsula coastal zone. This ecosystem will break out of the old Command-Control Instruments type, instead of Self-Adaption Instruments based on ecosystem boundary for balancing conflicts between economic benefits and environment protection. Over offering a fresh perspective, we contribute to theoretical research on ecosystem approached management of coastal zone, at the same time, provide some important findings to policymakers in practice.
